Grid Trading Strategies

How grid bots work in practice — with visual references for range setup, buy/sell levels, and full round-trip profit (one BUY + one SELL).

What is grid strategy?

Grid trading splits a price range into levels. The bot places BUY orders below the market and SELL orders above. When price oscillates sideways, each completed BUY → SELL cycle realizes grid profit.

Crypto markets spend most of their time ranging — grid strategies aim to capture small moves repeatedly instead of predicting direction.

Visual: grid levels on a chart

Sell levels above price, buy levels below. The arrow marks current market price.

Example: XLM/USDT grid

$0.2048 SELL open
$0.2036 SELL open
$0.2024 SELL open
$0.2012 SELL open
$0.1963 ▶ price
$0.1988 BUY filled
$0.1976 BUY waiting
$0.1952 BUY waiting

One round trip = full profit

1

Price drops → BUY order fills at lower level (e.g. $0.1988).

2

Bot places matching SELL one level up (e.g. $0.2012).

3

When SELL fills, entire round-trip profit is shown on the SELL row — not split across levels.

4

New BUY is placed at the lower level — cycle repeats.

Korvyth Strategies — Visual Guide

See how each strategy works with example scenarios. Available for 3 coin slots — all run on the spot grid engine.

GRID Grid Bot

Buy/sell within a range in sideways markets. Default strategy — each 1 BUY + 1 SELL round realizes full profit.

Example: XLM/USDT levels

$0.2048 SELL open
$0.2012 SELL target
$0.1963 ▶ price
$0.1988 BUY filled
$0.1952 BUY waiting

Round cycle

1

Price drops → BUY fills ($0.1988).

2

SELL placed one level up ($0.2012).

3

SELL fills → full round profit on SELL row, fees deducted.

4

New BUY at lower level — cycle repeats.

LOOP Loop Bot — Compound Profit

Automatically reinvests grid profits. Each round slightly increases the next order size — compounding growth.

Profit reinvestment

$0.2012 SELL +$1.20 profit
↻ Profit → added to next BUY size
$0.1988 BUY $180 → $181
$0.1964 BUY $180 → $181

Round 1: $180 order → Round 2: $181 order (profit added). Order size grows over time.

Loop cycle

1

Normal grid round completes (BUY→SELL profit).

2

Profit auto-added to next BUY order.

3

Larger order = higher absolute profit per round.

4

Compound effect builds in ranging markets.

DCA DCA Bot — Staggered Buying

Buys in stages during dips to lower average cost. Sells in bulk when price hits the target.

Example: SOL/USDT dip scenario

$148
$142
$136
$130
$140
$145.00 SELL target
$142.00 BUY 1 ✓
$136.00 BUY 2 ✓
$130.00 BUY 3 ✓

Avg cost: $136 → Target SELL $145 = ~6.6% gross spread

DCA cycle

1

As price falls, BUY orders fill at lower levels.

2

Average entry becomes lower than a single buy.

3

Price reaches target → bulk SELL realizes profit.

4

New DCA cycle starts — grid range resets.

BTD Buy The Dip

Concentrated buying at lower grid levels during sharp drops. Quick sell on recovery for profit.

Example: Sharp drop + bounce

normal
drop
DIP
bounce
$0.2050 SELL target
$0.1980 ▶ recovery
$0.1920 heavy BUY ✓
$0.1880 heavy BUY ✓

Bottom 30% of grid band gets larger orders — dip hunting.

BTD cycle

1

Price drops fast to lower band → heavy BUY triggers.

2

Larger orders at bottom vs normal grid.

3

On recovery, SELL at upper level — quick round profit.

4

Strong downtrend may trigger stop-loss.

COMBO Combo Bot — Hybrid

Grid + profit reinvestment (Loop) + dip buying (BTD) combined. Aggressive but controlled for volatile coins.

Three layers together

Grid baseNormal BUY/SELL levels — continuous round profit
Loop layerProfit → added to next order, compound growth
BTD layerHeavy BUY on dips in lower band — extra opportunity
Risk capStop-loss + capital limit applies to all layers
SELL open grid round profit
↻ Loop + Dip combined
Heavy BUY (dip) BTD zone
Normal BUY grid zone

Combo cycle

1

Grid rounds run normally, generating profit.

2

Part of profit reinvested via Loop.

3

On dips, BTD adds extra buys in lower band.

4

On recovery, both grid and dip positions close via SELL.

QFL Quick Finger Luc — Fast Dip Catch

Quick buy on oversold support bounces, short-target sell. Scalping-style short-term opportunities.

Example: Support bounce

DIP FAST BUY SHORT SELL
$0.2010 short target SELL
— support zone —
$0.1945 QFL BUY ✓

Single level, fast in/out — narrower target than grid, shorter duration.

QFL cycle

1

Price drops fast to support (oversold).

2

Bot sends instant BUY — no delay.

3

Short-term SELL target set (0.5–1.5%).

4

Target fills → profit taken; wait for next QFL signal.

Linear vs logarithmic grid

Linear

  • Equal price steps ($2, $2, $2…)
  • Best for stable, narrow-range coins
  • Equal profit potential per level

Logarithmic

  • Percentage steps (1%, 1%, 1%…)
  • Best for volatile coins
  • Wider spacing at extreme levels

Risk management

Stop-loss — exits when price breaks below the grid range.

Daily loss cap — pauses bot after a set daily drawdown.

Capital usage — limit how much of your wallet is deployed (recommended 70–85%).

Coin value drag — even when grid profit is positive, falling coin prices can reduce wallet value. Korvyth shows both metrics separately.

Risk warning: Grid strategies work in ranging markets but can lose in strong downtrends. Not financial advice.
